Rotate Gizmo not aligned to object or world.

When I import a support enforcer, and try and rotate it, the Gizomo is not aligned to the object or the world axis. This is probably because the original piece was rotated after import. Is there a way to align the Rotate Gizmo to the object or reset it to the world axis? Also, when I rotate the object, the Gizmo keeps snapping back to its original position (which is not aligned to the world or the object). Is there a way to turn off the snapping?

There is no mention of this behavior in the docs.  https://help.prusa3d.com/article/move-rotate-scale-tools_1914

Prusa Slicer 2.5 Alpha (though it did behaves like this in 2.3.3)

Mac OSX 11.6.1

RE:

yes, the failure your seeing is normal for Slicer, the coordinate system is very poorly implemented. If you can design and import all the modifiers supports ect, in your 3d program in the origanl model, then bring them in during import to slicer you will see substantially better results. Meaning all the placement of parts to be changed to their respective types after import are placed in your 3d program. This is the way, and I will not get into more detail here as I have seen this is not the place for this type of conversation.

That is unfortunate. At the very least, it would be nice to reset the axis to the world.

I have already tried the workaround you suggest. It is very cumbersome.

 Thanks for your reply.
