Removing system preset filaments

I don't want to use (or see) the system preset filaments that PrusaSlicer installs for my printer.

How can I remove those ???

Yes, I know I can remove them using the configuration wizard, but as soon as I have no filaments selected, I will get an error message showing "The following FFF printer models have no filament selected" even though my current configuration contains a whole list of custom filaments that are compatible with that printer.
So I end up with always at least one system preset filament.

Another issue is that I can not create a custom filament name like "Generic ABS" since that is a system preset. Even though I have not selected this filament as an available filament to me.
This is a bit of a pain in the ... From my previous slicers I was used to have a list of filaments built up as brand name + filament type. So "FormFutura Centaur PP" is also not available, as will other types/brands as soon as these are added to the PrusaSlicer system presets. I can sometimes get around this e.g. by using "Formfutura" (removing the 2nd capital F) but this is still annoying.

Is there some way to remove the system preset definitions and/or prevent PrusaSlicer from not allowing me to use my current filament profile names in future releases ?

Simple answer is No.

Start using a naming scheme for your custom profiles that includes something that wont ever be in the system ones.  Like your initials for example.  Bob used to add the date created to the end of his so he could tell when they were made is another example.

Does anyone know a good other slicer to use ?
I am starting to dislike a number of "features" and I am also missing some other features.
I like my Prusa XL but Prusaslicer is more and more becoming a pain in the ...
