PS is slicing with holes

Hello friends,

I have the following model and I try to slice it. As you can see in the first picture this is the model I want to slice and it looks good.

This is the mesh mixer view and it looks ok

But when I try to slice it I have holes in the doors and I do not know how can I fix this. I tried lots of things but without any change.

Is there anything I can try to fix this and make it printable ok?

Thank you lots in advance

That type of model is not suitable for 3d printing.  We have had several instances here of people trying to print out these types of automobiles.  They are modelled for things like games and not for physical reproductions.  Its made from thin panels which may be 'realistic' for an actual car but not when you consider that a sliced object has to take into account that parts must be at least 1 extrusion width thick to slice at all.  Let alone with supports etc.  Parts have to connect to each other.

You could 'try' changing slicing mode to Close Holes (located in Print Settings>Advanced>Slicing>Slicing Mode.  Its an Advanced/yellow setting so you must be in Advanced or Expert mode to see it.  I'd expect the result to not be good though.

Generally you would need to completely remodel to get something suitable for 3d printing.  Taking into account closed bodies, print limitations, printing in multiple parts for later assembly etc.  Basically lots of work.

Thank you for your reply. Appreciated. I forgot to mention, I am not interested in printing the inside stuff. I am interested in printing the car as full body, meaning only infill in the interior of the car. That is why I was hoping that it would print ok, cause I don't need the thin panels etc.
I will try your recommendation and see if it gets anywhere

Save your filament, that is not going to print well.  There are tricks involving slicing tricky models into parts and assembling the parts post printing ... don't even try it with this one.  Oh yes, I *am* referring to the exterior form and ignoring the inside.

Instead look for a similar model designed for printing **read any comments and look for pictures of successful builds** and only if they are favourable download and print.  Expect to print several parts and assemble afterwards.

Cheerio,

I would argue that the model doesn't look good in the first picture. There are several faces on the model that are gray (instead of green) and some odd looking geometry in the bottom corners of the doors. I suspect there will be an exclamation mark in a triangle next to the model name in the model tree. If you are on Windows, try repairing the model in PrusaSlicer. (Click the exclamation mark.)
