Hole size compensation parameter in PrusaSlicer, when?
I've been using my new Core One Plus for three months and it really is a good printer for me. Because PrusaSlicer seems to be the more compatible slicer for the Core One, I've been learning this piece of software, coming from using Ultimaker Cura for the last 9 years. Unfortunately, there seems to be almost no support for the Core One in Cura, so I think I'm sort of 'condemned'/'forcefully married' to using PrusaSlicer. The problem is that there's no way in PrusaSlicer to adjust the size of printed holes, in Cura there's the 'XY Hole Compensation'-parameter which does its job quite well. I'm missing this feature enormously in PrusaSlicer. Now I have to adjust the size of the hole(s) in the CAD model, which is kind of rediculous if you think that for CNC milling machines this workflow is totally unneccessary.
I'd plead for an option similar to the 'XY Hole Compensation' paramater in PrusaSlicer. Come on Prusa, it's already Q2 in 2026 and this desire for a hole size compensation feature in PrusaSlicer dates back to before 2020!
RE: Hole size compensation parameter in PrusaSlicer, when?
This is a user to user forum, the devs don't hang out here. The correct place to raise these sorts of concerns is the Prusa Slicer github. However as you pointed out this request is very old and has been made multiple times. Both here and there. But by all means go add your bit on github to raise the issue back towards the top.
Hole compensation was added in older versions of Super Slicer (which is based on PS) and the same settings were then carried over to the Bambu Labs slicer which used some of Super Slicer as a basis (like the calibration functions). That was then also ported over and used in Orca Slicer.
I'd recommend giving Orca Slicer a try, while the UI is heavily influenced by the BL slicer, so not like Prusa Slicer most of the same settings are there and so can be mapped between. While I prefer the PS user interface I have gotten used to the Orca one now.
