PrusaSlicer introducing little shifts on X... on my pc
Hello everybody,
Recently I have bought a printer MK3S+ (kit) and MMU2S.
At the beginning I have assembled the MK3S+ alone, no MM upgrade, because I wanmted to start make some test prints.
I installed PrusaSlicer and the Drivers for the printer alone.
The first print was the frog included in the SD card... amazing, it came out perfect at the first try.
I have played with it about one week, I couldn't believe that something that I assembled could be so precise; that's all thanks to Prusa.
I have then assembled the MMU2S and installed software a drivers for the printer+ upgrade.
I must have had a bit of bad luck, the sensors were not behaving properly, the extruder got clogged, well, to make it short I couldn't print anything, so I decided to go back to the printer only.
I have removed the hardware, re-prepared the printer alone (with all the experience it has not taken a lot) and I have installed again the software and drivers for the printer only (including flasing the printer again).
I started experincing on most of the prints that I sliced after the removal of MMU2S one little shift on the X axis.
It seems to be at a random height in each slicing but, printing the same gcode twice, the shift seems to be exactly at the same point.
If I slice again the model, the shift is at a different height; leaving the printer continue, I have noticed that after a couple of centimeters there could be a shift back bringing to the original position:
I was really depressed, it was all a matter of luck... shift or no-shift? how is going to be the next?
I have tried slicing models and then use the gcode viewer but I haven't noticed shifts there.
As the same slicing (thus same gcode file) had the shifting in the same place, I have tried printing something that I sliced before I installed the MMU2S; results: no shifts at all.
I have then uninstalled everything from my computer, cleared the registry as much as I could and re-installed software and drivers for the MK3S+ only... nothing changed, I still have to rely on luck.
Then, a few days ago, my wife started being interested to create some simple 3D models for herself, she's a quick learner and she had something ready in a short time; I have then installed on her pc PrisaSlicer too, so that she could be independent.
Her prints have no shifts at all, everything perfect.
How can I get back the proper processing on my computer?
