PrusaSlicer 2.8.0 Menu

Who decided that a converting perfectly usable menu bar to a single stacked menu item was a good idea?
It's not really saving any space, because there's lots of empty horizontal space after the Menu/settings buttons.
Now previously fast menu tasks require more clicks and more mouse movement.

Hope they put an option to go back to the "standard" menu bar.

No option needed if you ask me: just put it back.  Cascading menus should be kept to a minimum.

Already opened as a issue on github https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/12943   (which is where these things need to go, go add your support to it).

RE:

Really we need to raise the issue wherever it will get visibility.  The people making UI decisions need to know when users are unhappy with their changes.  I'd imagine it's only the devs that are seeing comments on github, the decision makers also need to be reminded.

Edit: that said I also created a github account specifically to comment on this issue on that platform also.

This site is user to user. It gets almost zero visibility. GitHub is the only place to raise things, unless you start a social media campaign targeting Joseph or one of the higher profile staff members like Mikolas Zuza.

I couldn't agree more, it's clunky and a pain to use. Is there an approved method of getting back to the previous version.

For Prusa: This slows my work flow and increases the probability of errors. Something that software developers seems to have lost, if it works do not change it just to change it.

Hmm I see now in the preferences > Layout Options a radio button to use Old regular layout which I prefer. I thought I would switch back and forth just to compare, and yet being a radio button it cant be un-clicked nor a option to re-select new style menu, sooo, there you have it.
