PrusaSlicer 2.4.2 is out!

Hello all, We are happy to announce the final release version of PrusaSlicer 2.4.2

A final release is when the reported issues from the previous releases have been resolved and the features have been fine tuned. Once these releases are set, the final version is included and added to our download package for our printers.

Summary

This is final release of PrusaSlicer 2.4.2, which mostly fixes bugs found in 2.4.1 release. This release is functionally the same as 2.4.2-rc2. See the release logs of 2.4.2-rc1 and 2.4.2-rc2 for the complete list of bugfixes with respect to 2.4.1.

RE: PrusaSlicer 2.4.2 is out!

Just installed it and now I get an error:

Prusa Slicer has encountered an error

Loading of a model file failed.

This only occurs with some of my models and files...

I just upgraded to Prusa Slicer 2.4.2 and now the support feature is not working.  I uploaded a previous file that work and now the supports are not being generated.

Same for me ...

Allready had the issue with 2.4.1 but somehow managed to get it working. Don't remember how exactly, but it impliec a more or less clean install and reimporting my presets...

This time again... From 2.4.1 to 2.4.2 and I can't load any STL or 3MF file any more...

RE: PrusaSlicer 2.4.2 is out!

Please tell me where to post if this is the wrong place...

I've been testing the betas for multiple extruders with the E3D Toolchanger. I see optimal results printing single extruder with 2.4.2. However I see some non-optimal results when I go multi color, multi extruder. In particular, I get significant over extrusions (i.e., big ugly blobs!) at the seam or the start and stop points per the layer's tool path. I see it for both extruders even though the settings are the same as they were for tests I did with a single extruder. So I'm not too sure what's happening. I really doubt it's my FW tool change scripts or my FW prime/wipe scripts since they work fine when I print from S3D. So PS is doing something!

I need to drag my part away from the center since I have a small damage on the build plate there. But after updating to this version, the part just snaps back to center!?

What file type are you trying to load?

Okay I get notification for new update, I click on it, process starts but then a window pops up: Modify, Repair or Remove. uh, I just want to update?

I click on "Modify", I get informed that update installation failed (see attached). Anyhat, I start up PrusaSlicer and update seemed to have installed anyways?

Kind of unintuitive, maybe a Upgrade button needed? ...or just skip that window and just proceed with upgrade? Just my two cents.

I found the problem.  When viewing the Print Settings under Expert Mode, the Overhang Threshold when set to zero (0) degrees and is not automatically creating supports.  In the prior version, it was set to 55 degrees.

Great work!

FYI the annoying grabbing-focus window bug is gone on Linux (from 2.3.3 and earlier). 🙂 Thanks!
