Prusa's 'mk3.svg' file not displaying correctly in any SVG viewer
I'm attempting to create a new vendor bundle for the FlashForge Creator Pro 2 IDEX printer, and I'm struggling with bed image issues. In trying to learn how to do this, I am using PS2's support for my MK3S printer as an example. Prusa's 'mk3_bed.stl' displays OK as a colorless bed surface with proper dimensions and layout, but 'mk3.svg' (which I assumed added the text and lines shown in Prusa Slicer) displays as a blank white square when viewed in an online SVG viewer. When viewed in NotePad++ I can see it contains graphics descriptions, but something is obviously off - and I don't have a clue.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? is the SVG format used in PS2 different than the SVG format that can be read/viewed by an online SVG viewer?

Did you test against a dark background?
Also, make sure your viewer doesn't add fill colors.

That's most likely the problem. Placing the svg on a black background makes it easier to view.

OK, I was able to see the MK3.SVG pattern, but only by using a 'blob' tool in Vector Paint, or by using Ctl-A to select everything and changing the fill and/or stroke color. I'm a complete noob when it comes to editing SVG files, but I couldn't figure out how to change the background to black. You'd think that would be an obvious option (and it probably is) but I couldn't figure it out.
Can I buy a clue? 😉

If you want to attach the SVG, I could add a black background for you in Adobe Illustrator. It would take me 5 minutes.

Thanks, but I don't need to change the file at all - I was just trying to understand how the .STL file and .SVG file are combined in a typical Prusa Slicer printer profile. The STL file is just a solid color 3D representation of the print bed, and it is the .SVG file that adds the coloring, lines, and text that you see in the 'Plater' view. I was trying to educate myself on how the machinery works, so I might be able to create a PS profile for my FlashForge Creator Pro 2 IDEX machine.
Give me another 10 years or so, and I might actually understand this stuff! 😉

I used SVG a few years ago to do website animation, but that stuff doesn't stick in one's mind without daily use. SVG is kinda like g-code, but 2 dimensional. To make a rectangle, for example, you would use the code for the shape and plug in the x and y co-ordinates for one corner and then the length and width of the rectangle, if I remember correctly. It is a very flexible and useful system and does very cool animation.

Ah. That I am not 100% certain of. I have created a printer profile for my Artillery Sidewinder printer that includes a nice bed SVG that I created, and I can add it manually, or have it import automatically if it's located in the right directory before importing the printer config bundle, but I'm not sure how you can make the process bulletproof to ensure the SVG is imported every time.
