Prusa Slicer 2.9.2 : PrusaSlicer add 3 layers or more and doesn't respect the piece's height

Hello!

I would like to slice a basic part (square section 5*5mm ) and 30mm of height.
Prusa Slicer shows that the height is 30mm.
But when I slice my part, I can see on the layers' scroll bar, there are 302 layers (the first 0.2mm height and the others 0.1mm), for a total height of 30.30mm.
The slicer changes the height and adds 0.3mm for my part (30.30 instead of 30.00mm)
This problem appears for all kind of parts i try to slice.
Does someone know what i'm doing wrong for the setting of the slicer?

Thank you for your answers!

We would need a copy of one of your prusa slicer project files to have any hope of debugging such an issue.  File>Save Project as from Prusa Slicer.  Thatr will save a 3mf with your part but more importantly ALL the settings you are using to slice.

To attach it to the forum you must ZIP it up first or the forum will silently just drop the file.

Thank you for attaching the project file.  That made it possible to figure out your issue.

With the settings you have configured (0.15mm First layer and 0.1mm layers after that then the closest height you will be able to get is 29.95mm as your layer combination cant get to precisely 30.00mm.  With that out of the way to start with, at first I couldn't figure out why it was not just 1 layer off, but several and larger than it should be.  Even if it went above I would have expected a 30.05 max.

It turns out its your Filament profile.  You have Shrinkage compensation configured for Z.  1%.  That means that with that filament profile selected that ANYTHING sliced with it will grow in Z by 1% and it will then slice to the nearest layer count it can.  Its a Amber setting, located in Filaments>Advanced>Shrinkage compensation.

I look so Stu*id... 🤐

I modified this parameters thinking I could adjust the hole size, but ultimately, not only!

Far from thinking, I resize the whole part.

Thank You!

And I've just found the right parameter for holes... ("xy_size_compensation", in french the two/three settings have quite similar name "compensation de taille XY" or "compensation du rétrécissement XY (or Z)")

Thank you again!

XY Size compensation re sizes the whole model in X and Y Dimensions both inside holes and outside the model perimeter, You may find that parts designed to fit together, no longer fit tigether
