Print Time is ~2x When Enabling Gap Fill

I've been noticing recently that enabling gap fill (PrusaSlicer-2.3.1) doubles my print time on average. In this slice, you can see that gap fill only adds 3 minutes of time according to PS, however significant time has been added to the other feature's print times. I know there will be some added time for additional print head moves per layer, but an extra hour+ on a 23-layer print? That seems to me like either user error/ignorance or a possible bug. Thoughts? Insights?

For reference since it's hard to see, print times are:

Gap Fill OFF = 1h7m

Gap Fill 25mm/s = 2h27m

Gap Fill OffGap Fill 25mm/s

RE: Print Time is ~2x When Enabling Gap Fill

you could try it and see if it's better in PrusaSlicer version 2.3.2, and if that doesn't work, I'd try version 2.3.3, if your still not seeing a difference, as a last resort you could try PrusaSlicer- version 2.4.0.

Beyond that I would report it to GitHub.

Good Luck

Same results in 2.4, turns out enabling gap fill reduces the print speed of all the other features for some reason. This is why it takes twice as long to print.

RE:

For anyone interested, this issue seems to be only affecting prints that utilize Auto-Speed. There's an issue already open on Github about this, you should subscribe to it to raise priority for the devs!
