All of my muscle memory, like Alt-f, Alt-e is disabled so I downgraded to 2.7.4.

Trying OrcaSlicer also since it has the small area flow compensation! Link https://github.com/SoftFever/OrcaSlicer/pull/3334

No need for a poll, there are plenty of opinion and issue threads already. If you want to communicate with Prusa Devs directly, go to github.

The UI changes are unfortunate and not useful to me: can't ALT-navigate and the menu is more clicks and drags. I want to turn auto-calculate on and off easily, and to have it follow more conventions, not fewer.

No need for a poll, PrusaSlicer 2.8.0 is a worthless piece of crap, they could have cared less when they developed it, and it's problems are so numerous, they are not worth mentioning, they are either trying to destroy their developed product, which seams evident since version 2.5.0 or they don't care about what the users of the product think about the development of the product since 2.4.2, witch seams evident. I wish you luck in your endeavor but its clear that prusa doesn't care what we think as users. it might be time to seek other means, to get what you need.

Look for the slicer underground they are moving forward.

good luck to you user.

I see that they are going in the direction of minimize the efforts and costs to port the GUI on several OS, by using a global GUI that runs without modification on all OS.

This will simplify future implementations outside Windows. Linux based OS, or Apple OS, will be easy to maintain. It will be also easier to implement app on iPhone, Android, iPad and in a browser, since the GUI will not be the major problem to support.

However, may be the development team should be more in contact with the farm people, so that they can think more with the mind of a printer than a software programmer.

Regards

On the contrary, they have dropped Raspberry Pi and all other ARM Linux OS's.

Not liking the menu changes either since it means extra clicks.  However, the worst part is that it's now clunky and slow on my Linux desktop.  Can't smoothly track up and down the layers from the preview.  Instead it jumps up and down.  The whole UI hesitates and is less responsive.  I hope maybe this is a "dot zero" release issue that will be fixed.  I've gone back to 2.7 in the mean time.

Can anyone from Prusa explain what was the original intent with the redesign? I.e. what was bad about the previous interface and what issues is the new one trying to solve?

I hate the Menu bar UI change. Maybe keep this change for those who keep the slicer in Simple Mode only.

The smaller platter icons with same sized grey border boxes also makes no sense.

Hate how PS forces MS Edge WebView2 usage even if you're not using Prusa Connect at all.

I don't like that there is less info in the sliced preview axis. I prefer seeing the tick marks and z-height numbers on the vertical axis.

I like the more GPU-powered sliced preview. This actually helps quite a lot with really large (ex. 160mb bgcode file) projects.

Absolutely love the color preview of the entire platter without having to slice first.

2.8 menu system is a total disaster.

I've just downloaded Orca Slicer. Exploring now...

I'm getting weird inconsistent layer heights, even though I have variable layer heights not enabled.

I've had nothing but failed prints since I upgraded.

Can't upload a file to Prusa Connect without scheduling it. Also my printer is displayed as incompatible because a different filament is loaded. Yeah...
