Placeholder for object's file name to use in gcode output filename?

Does anyone know if you can automatically include the object's filename base into the generate gcode file's name? TIA

Yes you can.  For example a standard prusa Print profile will contain under Print Settings>Output Options>Output File>Output filename format
{input_filename_base}_{layer_height}mm_{filament_type[0]}_{printer_model}_{print_time}.gcode
That will use the first file you load as the filename base then the layer height, then the base filament type, the printer model as defined in the Printer settings and then print time.  There are many more you can use if you want.

Its a red colour coded setting so you need to be in expert mode to see it.

Oh, I guess it makes sense to use the first object or the file name of the project itself. I was hoping I could force it to use the first object I have that's actually visible when I generate the gcode. I usually only have 1 object visible with multiple instances.

RE: Placeholder for object's file name to use in gcode output filename?

Hello all,I'm bringing this topic up again.

When I have an unsaved project, the object name is automatically taken as the gcode name. This is the way I want it.

As soon as I save the project, the name from the save file is sent to the printer as the gcode name. How can I get around this?

How can I set under "Print Settings>Output Options>Output File>Output filename format" that the object name is always used and not the name of the save file?

I can't find a setting for object names in the official list: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/list-of-placeholders_205643

Maybe someone can help me, thank you very much.

Kind regards

Daniel
