Perimeter order messed up in 2.8.0?

I'm printing a threaded bit and notice that when an overhang of the thread begins to print (inner thread) the extruded material doesn't adhere properly, which results in printing a straight line in mid air between two points. After thinking that something is off with my printer and tinkering, I notice that PS 2.8.0 out of nowhere decides to print the outer perimeter first on overhang-containing layers, meanwhile layers not containing the thread are printed inside-out. I (all hail NixOS) quickly reverted to 2.7.4 and it's sliced just as god intended, all layers are printed inside-out providing proper adhesion for the outside perimeters of the threads.

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature and whether I should report this elsewhere.

PS. all hail NixOS

Possibly/probably this one https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/13144

For future reference all bug reports and feature requests need to be made at the Prusa Slicer github.  The devs do not check here.  This is purely a user to user forum.  Its a useful place to get advice but is not an official channel for bug reports.

No idea what NixOS is but you do realise you can run every version independently ? at least on windows.  I can run 2.7.4 side by side with 2.8.1 as well as 2.5.0, all at the same time if I want.  Just have to know how.

RE: Perimeter order messed up in 2.8.0?

After trying both 2.8.0 and 2.8.1, I've reverted to using 2.7.4.

2.8.1 is a much improved GUI over 2.80, but still exhibits the 'lag' when stepping up through the layers after slicing, which 2.7.4 does not do.

Also, from the github entry linked in the previous message, the perimeter change seems not good for a design with threads: "... intentional change intended to improve seam quality. For now, we will not revert the behavior or add a switch."
