organic supports ignore paint-on support enforcers
Hello,
I am trying to print an anime figurine, which requires a lot of supports due to the model's complexity.
When using organic supports, I am trying to reinforce some areas where the slicer does not generate enough supports using the paint on-supports feature,
but no new supports I generated even when I aggressively paint on the entire area. Is it supposed to be this way? Or am I missing something?
I tried using normal support enforcers and they do work as intended.
my current profile(First time trying to to upload a non-image file to this forum, hope I did it correctly):

Automatically generated supports(Clearly not supported enough - I didn't notice this at first and then it failed during print)
Aggressive support painting(supported basically everywhere I could see)
I tried different default profiles and support generation modes, with no avail.
any help will be greatly appreciated
I am running prusaslicer ver. 2.7.4 on linux

I had the same problem the other day that paint-on supports were not created. I used the method with right-click > Add support enforcer and created/scaled a shape that fit my needs. The (organic) supports were created then.

Yes, I have noticed the same thing - while paint on supports do not generate, supports are still generated with automatic generation and using box support enforcers,
so it's possible to work around the problem in this way - although it is time consuming and the generated supports are often harder to remove, especially near thin sections of the mode.
After performing more testing by myself, I believe the most likely culprit in my case is the xy compensation setting - by the looks of it, when setting xy compensation to 0.2 or higher, paint on supports stop generating. This seems to be a bug, so I opened a bug report on the github page, hope it gets fixed soon

Your print project sounds intricate! Paint on-supports should add where needed, but it's acting up. Stick with regular supports for now. Check if there are specific settings for this feature in your version of PrusaSlicer.
When you have lots of dangling bits it's often easier to invert the model, or to cut it in sections and invert selected parts; then print what are now sticking-up bits cleanly, reassemble and glue.

Must be some setting. I did a test:
- cylinder, angled about 45 degrees
1. with automatich organic supports
2. with brushed some spots + enforced
I cannot see any problem. I added the 3mf file so you may test on your slicer/machine.
