null character error

hello everyone I ran into the problem of my PrusaSlicer.ini having null characters which will not let me load the slicer. I have deleted the file, deleted the whole program and reinstalled it but nothing has worked can I get some tips on how to fix this. I am on windows 10.

thank you for your time

Uninstalling the software does NOT remove any settings.  If there is a problem with the settings stored then those will all have to be nuked too. Usually in Users>user account>AppData>Roaming>PrusaSlicer on a standard win install.

Once completely cleared out you should at least be able to re-install and go through the setup wizard again.

You did make backups of your custom profiles regularly using the Export Config Bundle option in slicer didn't you ?  Thats the 'proper' way of backing up anything custom.  They should be in that folder too so it might be best to make a backup before deleting, at least of the filament, printer and print folders.

Thank you very much it worked

and I have never backed up customs before but I am only a year in and am still trying to figure things out so I didn't have many; but thank you for the good practice.
