New Printer profile for .25 nozzle

I added a profile for my MK3S and MMU2S with .25 nozzle and there were no filaments.  I went to Add/Remove filaments and went through the  selection of printers and manufacturers and clicked Finish.  I got no messages about success or failure, but no filaments were added.  It just shows default on all 5 extruder settings and they only drop down to show add presets and add filaments.

What am I doing wrong?  Thanks

You aren’t doing anything wrong. There are no tested filament profiles for a mmu with .25 nozzle. Prusa only supply profiles for known good configuration combinations. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions for what that says about the mmu with a small nozzle.

RE:

Thank you for the reply.

That would sure be a better answer than the NOTHING that I get.  So how would I get an untested profile that night stand as a reasonable starting point?

I don't really need the MMU for this project so I should just pick the MK3S without the MMU and bypass it?  I saw something about a DPDT switch for that somewhere.

RE: New Printer profile for .25 nozzle

Its probably the combination of the nozzle size with MMU.  unless you are printing miniatures then a 0.25 is pretty pointless, and if printing miniatures then a resin printer is better at the job lol.

How to get the filaments, well there are several threads around in this forum about that.  You would select a printer that has access to the filaments you want.  Then you select the Filament profile tab and go down to Dependencies.  In there you will see several fields.  Theres likely something in the Compatible Printers Condition field, delete everything if you want the filament to be available to all printers on your system.  You will also likely need to use the Detach from System Preset button in there too.
Once you have those done you save the filament profile as a new custom one.  One thing you should also check before saving and using the new profile though is the Custom G-code section under the filament.  That is where Prusa add in the Linear Advance values for the printer/nozzle/filament combination.

Its these settings that are what technically stop the profiles from being generic as linear advance should be configured for a particular machine/nozzle and filament combo.  Prusa actually test them and make sure they are correct for their machines.  If you study what's in there you should see a bunch of stuff with conditions for various machines.   You would probably have to run the marlin instructions for finding out what the LA value should be, https://marlinfw.org/docs/features/lin_advance.html

WOW that is a handful.  Thank you for the information.  I did find that I could print with .25 nozzle if I selected a non MMU printer.  I did that for TPU and will do it for this .25 project.

Thanks again.
