Merging 2 STL objects into one print

I have 2 STL files that I would like to merge into one object to print. The first is a pre-designed clip that attaches to a drone body, the second is a small case that I designed and want to clip onto the drone. I don't have the design for the pre-designed clip nor is it easy to replicate.

If I place both objects in their correct positions in PrusaSlicer and hit Slice, I get an error that conflicts in the gcode have been detected. Also, when I look at the individual layers, I see that where the 2 objects meet the nozzle will print object 1 over object 2 - basically double extruding in that area.

Is there a way to do this kind of merge?

Thanks

Yes.  You can select both and right click to merge if they are both already loaded on to the Platter.  Or you can load one object and then right click it and use Add Part> Load then select the second stl. You will then have a single Object made up of 2 Parts.

When sliced you will no longer have the overlap of extrusion.  As its one Object if you want to reposition one of its Parts you will need to use the right hand tree list to select the part you want to move.

Yes, and it is called "Merge" :-). Select both objects in the box with the names by holding Shift or Ctrl, then click the right mouse button and select "Merge" in the menu.

Gotta love this slicer.  Worked perfectly. Thanks!
