Material change mid-print
I've recently transitioned from Simplify3D to PrusaSlicer which on the whole I much prefer.
However, I'm looking to print something at the moment and mid-print (at a specific layer) I need to change from PLA to a flexible material.
This means not only do I need to initiate a filament change at that layer but need to apply different print settings after the change.
Is this something that's possible with PrusaSlicer or will I have to still use Simplify3D for that?
Thanks

You can use modifiers to apply different settings pretty much everywhere you want.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
Find out why this is pinned in the general section!

@robin
Exactly what I was after, thanks

The modifier only allows you to apply one parameter at a time. If one wants to switch between flexible and e.g. PETG, that's not very practical because there are several parameters involved and you'd have to copy all of them manually. Is there a way to achieve that?

Unfortunately I don't think so, an ability to use height modifiers to change filament profile would be an extremely powerful tool.

Late to the party but was looking for help before hacking code. Looks like that might be only option. Plan is to slice two materials with color swap in same places. Then compare G-code slicing where appropriate, initiating extruder temperature change while or just before swap (keeping 1st layer material heatbed temp same). Why this isn’t part of Advanced features layer filament change beyond me, most polymers will stick to themselves. Wish me luck!
