Layer Shift on 2.3.3

I'm having a big problem with PrusaSlicer (that doesn't appear with any of my other slicers, 4 in total). I noticed today when it was laying down a first layer, when it moved to start doing the infill for that layer, it made a 'clunk' sound on the printer and the infill it started laying down did not touch the outline any longer on that side (and overlapped on the other side, meaning it shifted).

This is not a machine issue as the same print from 3 other slicers came out fine. 

I'm trying to figure out what is causing Prusa to control my printer in such a way that it would even make a mechanical 'clunk' to begin with. I ended up doing Ignore on the machine limits which seemed to help a bit, but it still made a bit of a clunk (less of one though) and still managed to not fully make a connection with the outline on one side (ever so slightly) so it is still shifted. 

So there's still something the slicer is controlling that it shouldn't be I guess, or that is outside of my machine's limits (CR10 V3).

any thoughts?

Try adjusting z-lift (aka z-hop)

The clunk sound is likely from filament peeling up due to poor 1st layer adhesion. It is definitely not normal. Check Printer Settings->Extruder 1->Retraction->Z-lift. If a positive value is entered in that field, the nozzle will be lifted an extra distance after every retraction. This is done specifically to avoid such collision, though a better solution is to eliminate the filament lifting in the first place. Your other slicers may have this feature enabled or set differently.

I'm very experienced with 3D printing and I've checked all the usual suspects. 

The first layer is going down quite flawlessly and I use glue, nothing is peeling. And the clunk is actually happening on the very first layer, so it doesn't make much sense that there would be enough material laid down to cause a collision. That being said, I tried adding some z-hop, and it didn't seem to make a difference. I certainly don't need such hopping on any other slicer either.

In that case, this might be a better question for Creality support. Check on their forums to see if there are any suggestions.

Strange that it would be a machine issue when 3 other slicers are fine, but I'll definitely do some cross-posting, maybe there is a known issue I'm not aware of in compatibility
