Issue slicing simple STL

Hi,

I have a relatively simple STL that changes shape when I slice it.   Easiest way to describe is with pics.

There seems to be an issue with the area around the bottom fillet.   The center hole gets filled in and the fillet gets changed to a chamfer.

Could this be some artefact in the STL file or is it an issue with PrusaSlicer?

I'm using PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 on standard settings for a MK3S.

Thanks,

Matt

Without either the saved (and zipped up for attachment) project or stl file its impossible to say.  Artefacts like that are usually down to stl file errors though.

If you are on windows 10 then the first port of call for strange slicing issues is to right click the part on the plater in PS and use the fix through netfabb option.  That fixes most stl issues to the point where PS can slice the file.  Really badly broken ones it wont though.

As I say if you want confirmation on it then we are going to need the Project file.  With that we can slice it with the same settings you are using and also export the stl if needed to check it in some other software (like Blender for example).

Ooh, a shapeshifter! $100 this being an issue with the STL. $200, if it’s an export from OpenScad or Tinkercad.

This happens to me too, when the STL has errors. As @Neophyl said: Try to repair with netfabb via the context menu.

Edit: $300 if it is from FreeCAD

Thanks all.  The fix with Netfabb worked.  I didn't realise this option on the context menu.

We have a winner.  Yes it was a FreeCAD export!
