Is it possible to transfer print settings from a .3mf file to another printer?

Hi, is it possible to transfer the print settings from a .3mf file to another printer? Just downloaded the .3mf treefrog file. When I open this file in PrusaSlicer, it comes with specific printer and print settings. Because I have a MMU and 0.25 nozzle, I have to change to another printer. But when I do that, all the print settings (infill, etc.) of the .3mf file are gone. I assume the .3mf file print settings were optimized for the model, so I was wandering if there is an easy way to transfer the print settings of the .3mf file to another printer (only having to adjust for example the layer height and keep the rest according to the .3mf file)?

After loading the 3MF file, you can save any of the Print, Filament, or Printer Settings tabs as a custom profile. You should then be able to select another printer preset and pull in the saved Print or Filament Settings preset you created. Transferring printer settings is likely to be a more manual process.

It highly likely that the Print settings in the 3mf file have a Dependency.  With it when you change printer then the profile no longer is valid match and so gets replaced.  Same with filaments.

Check the Print Settings>dependencies>Compatible printers condition (expert level setting so must be in expert mode to see it).  If you save a copy of the profile then remove any dependency first before saving as it wont be visible to your other printer if it still violates the dependency.

The MMU is blocked from a lot of profiles by prusa design.

That's it indeed, there was a dependency (printer_notes=~/.*PRINTER_VENDOR_PRUSA3D.*/ and printer_notes=~/.*PRINTER_MODEL_MK3.*/ and nozzle_diameter[0]==0.4 and ! single_extruder_multi_material) that made this print setting not visible with my 0.25 nozzle printer. Didnt know about this feature, thanks!

This is why I hate using somebody else's 3mf files! Every time I try to use one it seems to mess up everything and I usually have to spend time resetting everything!

Loading in someone’s 3mf files should do nothing to any profiles you have already have saved.  All it does mean is that you have to select your own preferred ones again as PS remembers the last selected profiles.
You can actually take advantage of that by saving your own 3mf files with particular combinations of print, filament and printer. That way if you want to get back to a specific combination you can just load your own 3mf in.

As @neophyl said, 3mf-file from others should not affect your saved profiles.
However, sometimes chosen profiles from somebody else could look very strange. That is due to a known bug. (which should be fixed in 2.4)

3MF files are useful to diagnose a printer.
