importing profiles

i stumbled on some custom Filament profiles that i really would like to use but when i download it, its in .txt format and i can't import it either as config profile or as config bundle.  I am assuming because its not an .ini file?

the downloaded profile consists of a group of filament profiles instead of a single filament which i'm thinking is the issue.

i tried to select one filament profile from the group, created a separate .ini file and pasted the filament profile i selected but i am still unable to import/create the profile.

what am i not doing right?

PrusaSlicer 2.3.1-RC

Thank you in advance.

RE: importing profiles

PrusaSlicer configurations can be distributed in 2 forms:

  1. A config file that combines print, filament, and printer settings into one profile. When imported, you'll see presets with the name of the imported file if any of the settings for that category are changes. To make these permanent, you'll need to save custom presets.
  2. A config bundle that can contain multiple print, filament, and printer settings. When imported, these are saved as presets for future use.

The formatting of configs and config bundles is different, but both should have the ".ini" extension. Just rename your file. It sounds like a config bundle. More information here. Example filament config bundle here.

Funny that you were the first to reply but i did hope you'd chime in.

Its your Filament profile from your website. Lol

I tried renaming it as i have mentioned but PS doesn't recognize it as either a config file or bundle.

Thanks.

RE: importing profiles

Is it the file from pastebin? I just realized it renames it to ".txt" when downloading, but the actual file should be fine if you rename it to ".ini". You can also cut & paste the raw data into your editor directly and save it with the ".ini" extension there. I'll see if I can change how pastebin handles the downloads. Thanks for letting me know!

@bobstro

no worries.. i think i may have also found what made it more complicated on my part. i stole my wife's Macbook Pro (she only wants to watch movies with it, and i wanted to maximize the $$$ we paid for it) and being a long time Windows user, i just realized with MacOs its not as straight forward as just renaming the extension looks like it. and im still trying to figure it out right now.
