How to get gap fill to not cross perimeters?

I am trying to deal with a stringing issue. Apparently gap fill does not respect the "avoid crossing perimeters" switch. Is this correct. I am looking for some way to keep the nozzle within the printed area, similar to the Cura "combing" feature. Suggestions? - Thanks
