First layer speeds

I'm pretty sure that others have discussed this before, yet a quick search yielded nothing of interest.  If I have a slower perimeter speed for smaller diameters, why would PrusaSlicer not apply that speed on the first layer?

RE: First layer speeds

There are several different parameters exclusively for the first layer(s).  You might back these off a bit if your first layer is too fast, or simply slow it down a bit with the front panel until your critical details are printed.

I've found that PS has very sane first layer speeds by default, but Cura, at least with the MK3S settings that came with mine, is most definitely too fast on the first layer by default.

RE: First layer speeds

Thanks, jsw. for your reply and insight. I ended up keeping my usual first layer speeds of 30 mm/s and slowing down my max accelerations in gcode, as I had toggled between standard and SpreadCycle chopper modes before running into first layer speed issues.
