First layer infill speed

Hi everyone,

 I was wondering, whether any of you find the need for modifying the first layer infill speed. What I am after:

I usually need to lower the speed for the first layer significantly - down to 10mm/s. Otherwise small perimeter features - like holes for instance - don't stick to the bed and frequently just tear off. But once the perimeters are done, the infill speed  of the first layer can be at 100%. I learned that by manually changing the speed during the print.

I can change the first layer speed for each of the print moves at once in PrusaSlicer, but I would like to override the infill speed to 100% of the "normal" infill speed. I am about to file improvement issue on PrusaSlicer Github, but I'd like to know opinion of others first. Maybe there is some other solution to my goal.

Thanks in advance.

Martin.

By the way: I am using Prusa Mini+ with PLA Prusament and sometimes with some cheap Chinament(tm) 😉

That’s one of the reasons I often use Super Slicer, it has separate speed settings first first layer perimeters and first layer infill.

@mkudlacek

You can set the Speed of the first layer in PrusaSlicer in, Print Settings/ Speed/ [Modifiers] First layer speed:

 It's set to 20mm/s at the time of install.

Good Luck

@swiss_cheese

Yes, but that also lowers the speed of all print moves on the first layer. I need to lower only the perimeter speed, everything else can be on 100%.

@neophyl

Thank you for the tip! I switched to the SuperSlicer and it does exactly what I need.

Happy holidays to both of you!
