Filament profiles?

In the release notes I see various filament profiles mentioned, but cannot for the life of me find them in the software.  I see 3 Prusament profiles, 3 generic profiles, and a single PVA and single BVOH.   I know how to add my own profiles, and I understand that the settings are per-printer (there are seperate MMU2 and Mini profiles for the same filament).  I know how to show incompatible profiles and know how to read the "compatible printers condition" code.  Yet I cannot see any third party filament profiles that are mentioned in the software release notes.

Is there something I have to do to import these profiles? Is there a setting somewhere that I've missed?

I'm experimenting with a lot of different filaments and rather than re-invent the profiles I'd like to use profiles developed by people more experienced than I.

Thank you!

if you are talking about the ones that Prusa has. If you go to the configuration button on the top bar, press the wizard button, then select filaments, you then get to this window and you can select the ones you can but filaments that are marked with an astrix are not compatiable with all printers, so if you click on each one, it will give you a list of what printer that filament has settings for.

RE: Filament profiles?

Most of the filament profiles are only available to the prusa printers.  Thats because they are tuned for the prusas (they contain specific linear advance gcodes in the filament gcode sections.  Its the whole vendor space thing which doesnt have anything the do with the compatible printers keying (thats the 'old way' of limiting access).  Vendor space considerations are checked before it gets to the compatible printers bit.  As such you cant even see them if you dont have a printer in that vendor space.

If you want access to them you will have to install a prusa printer.  Then select the prusa so they become visible.  Any you want to make available to other non prusa printers you can then make a copy of.  That copy needs to have the 'detach from system profile' button clicked and then saved again with it detached.  Also please double check if you need to remove the linear advance code for your particular printer.

Back when they first implemented the Vendor spaces we had many complaints about installed filaments not actually being visible to custom printers.  At that time I did a cleaned out and detached filament pack that could be imported using the Import Config Bundle option.  It basically added in most of them that could be used on any printer.  Its out of date as it doesnt have new ones in but you are quite welcome to use it if you want.
