The new version is looking very promising with a number of new features that some people have been intereseted in.

I wonder what timescale is till a release verion?

Current master seems to build OK and I am well pleased with it.

My guess would be a few months. We haven't even hit the beta stage yet, and there isn't any indication yet if what follows the source-only alpha3 will be another alpha or if it will be in beta stage. Expect a couple beta releases before the final release.

But, I have no inside information so take the above with a gigantic pinch of salt...

There are definitely a number of known glitches and they're still hard at work. They redid a lot of the path planning stuff for travel so I'm not surprised that is going to take extensive verification and debugging. There's still more to do as well; they haven't even touched travel if 'avoid crossing perimeters' is selected.

I too have been using the alpha build for a while now and it does perform admirably in most cases.

Bubnik mentioned an alpha4 in a reply to a post on github, although who knows if that will be a built version or another like the alpha3 tag
