Disk permission asked every time

Hello - Maybe somebody here knows...? Ever since I updated to 2.5.0, Prusa Slicer asks for permission to eject the disk when I click the eject icon. This is on my Mac, running macOS Monterey 12.6.

It doesn't matter if it's an SD card or USB thumb drive, same result. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I would like to know as well. I got that same message before I updated.

What macOS are you on? I'm wondering if it has to do with the OS versus Slicer?

I know it's not very helpful but all I can say is I've never seen a permission prompt on either Monterey or Ventura. It just makes me doubt it's a Prusaslicer issue but perhaps something in the Mac configuration? Now what that could be, I have no idea.

I’m on 12.6 now, but was on a previous version of 12 when it was happening. I’ve since setup an Octoprint server and haven’t been using the USB stick in PrusaSlicer.

RE: Disk permission asked every time

I recently stopped using Octoprint (no issues just a temporary change to my workflow) and I am having the problem with Mac OS 12.6 and PrusaSlicer 2.5 ejecting the USB drive I use with the Mini. Have not tried it with with the SD card for my MK3S. I closed PrusaSlicer then went in to the Mac OS security & Privacy settings -> Files and Folders -> PrusaSlicer and unchecked "Removable Volumes". Opened PrusaSlicer, closed PrusaSlicer, rechecked "Removable Volumes" and it had no effect. I was thinking about tossing in a reboot in-between all of that but I have too much going on at the moment to try it.

@the-sword-rules did you ever figure things out?

@Razor - I still have the issue. I’ve completed supposed required steps with Finder and such to allow PrusaSlicer permissions to remove able drives. The app is listed!

It’s quite silly and also frustrating, that the app asks every time. Super weird.

doesn’t happen on my MacBook but it also isn’t on 12.6. I think the problem lies in between the slicer and that specific OS on my machine. I am not hearing about it elsewhere, so it must not be a widespread problem.

I'll try it with my MacBook Pro, but I have to find a USB-C adapter first. I have several somewhere. 😄 Unfortunately I think it's on 12.6 as well.

I have the same problem with PrusaSlicer 2.7.2 on MacOS Sonoma (14.4.1). I have given both /usr/sbin/diskutil and PrusaSlicer full disk access, but it still asks for permission in PrusaSlicer but not from Finder.

In `/System/Library/Security/authorization.plist`, there is this (in several variations), which might be tweakable to allow unmount without asking permissions for specific programs.
