Convert objects into supports?
Hi,
I have an object that has inset areas on the base to allow adhesive feet to be applied. So i've modeled the object and the cylinders that will be the supports for the inset areas.
I've loaded the objects into Prusaslicer and have split it into objects, is there a way for me to use the four cylinders as supports (convert them into supports)?
Cheers
SJ

No.
RE: Convert objects into supports?
There is no 'turn stl into supports' button, but you can always use those objects and modifier settings to mimic being supports (zero perimeters, aligned rect infil, sink the object 0.2mm, etc).

Both of these users are correct, however I would offer an alternative, split your Object to Parts, not Objects. Then scale the parts you intended to be the adhesive pads support slightly shorter then you need, and use the (Paint on supports Gizmo) with smart fill selected to highlight the areas that need the support ( the model not the adhesive pads).
This will give you the automatically selected area (one click per adhesive foot) you need for your actual supported area. you will not need Aligned recliner infill, you can choose any fill that costs the least amount of time and filament per your need. The parts to be removed (The support parts) will also be easier to remove relative to regular support material, because of how solid they are.
Any questions just ask, I hope this helps.
As always it's best if you post a Prusaslicer generated .3mf project file. This file must be .zip (zipped up) in order to post here. Your best answers will come from understanding this, it's a requirement of the Forum.
