"Complete individual objects" should include the brim!

I'm trying for the first time "complete individual objects" because I have several cable clips to print which are not tall and which I would like to print individually for better quality and speed (less travel moves, less oozing, ...). Also, I'm using nylon and this way I reduce the risk of detaching from the build plate: each object is finished quickly and the adhesive needs to hold for less time (if it detaches at the end fine, the whole print is not ruined).

I was surprised when I saw that the brim is printed at the beginning for all objects! I would have expected to be printed when each individual object starts, since the brim belongs to the object itself!

Any way to modify the behaviour? should I open a ticket in Github? I cannot think about any example where the brim makes sense at the beginning for all objects, we could call it bug.

Ops, duplicate of

https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/prusaslicer/print-sequence-brim-in-combination-with-complete-individual-objects/#post-347461

which however got not answer (the only reply is not related to the question asked).

Adding a fake brim/mouse ears to the part might do what you want as a possible work-around.

I add a cylinder resized to 30mmX0.2mm and positioned on the bed to items that need support. Right-click on the model to add parts.

@bobstro

It would work but which use case would benefit from the current behaviour? Seems like a poor design choice if there are no use cases.

It was indeed reported as bug.

In 2017!

I think it's a case of sequential printing having been added on and simply not integrated well into the other features. Agreed it could be better. I'm just looking for and identifying workarounds for now.

Just use super slicer lol. I’m half kidding but the stable has had that fixed I believe. Along with the skirt for individual items.

I tried it once, it's super full of parameters.

There are so many that even if I decide to ignore them and leave them as they are I don't know whether the defaults are the same as in Prusaslicer. I fear what works won't work anymore...

But sure, I can try it again.

That is certainly a legitimate concern.  SuSie has way more options to play with.  Most of the defaults for options that PS doesnt have are fairly neutral but of course its always things that are 'almost' like something that catch you out.

All I can suggest is try a couple of small test prints to check out various settings and features first.

I just encountered the same problem, still not fixed...
I found a decent workaround though: rafts.
While brims do not get printed sequentially in "complete individual objects mode", rafts apparently do and they share some of the advantages.
I know this is not really the best solution but for me its a good compromise.
