Coil Whine when moving over icons

I noticed my computer making a slight noise any time I move over one of the icons in the 3D Viewer (move, rotate, Arrange, Layer View, etc.).  It seems like it may be coil whine from my video card.  So I peaked at the Task manager, and if I constantly wiggle between multiple icons, the GPU goes up to as high as 45%; this is on a Radeon RX 6600.  While constantly rotating only goes as high as 9%.  Why are the icons so GPU hungry?

RE: Coil Whine when moving over icons

I have noticed the same thing.. Not the whine.. But the GPU use. And weirdly I don't remember it being like this before, but nothing has changed so I don't know when this started.

For me, I have a low spec graphics card and use my PC a lot to watch TV (from SkyGo or MediaPlayer).. And when I do this, and try to use PrusaSlicer it keeps freezing..

I didn't think about this until I read your post.. But I just checked and its the same... When I move over 'buttons' the GPU goes up to 70%.. And this explains my problem, as my TV apps are taking 60%+.. So using Slicer maxes out the GPU.

So I echo your question.. Why on earth does moving over buttons cause the GPU to spike.. And why have I not noticed this before? Has it always been like this?

RE: Coil Whine when moving over icons

Its not only the GPU it also ticks upwards the cpu somewhat as well.  Nice catch.

It does it in 2.0.0 too which is as far back as I have installed.  So it looks like its always done this.

Closest issue I can find is this one https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/7635   I'd at least update this one with your report.
