Can PrusaSlicer be used on Creality Ender 5 with dual extrusion?

My reason for asking is that I have asked here for help about this and have received no replies at all. I was asking for non-Prusa printers to assist me with setting my Ender 5 with Dual extruders up in PS. I managed to setup a OK'sh profile for one extruder almost without stringing and all other things. The next step was to setup the tool switching but I have yet to receive some help.

The lack of replies now makes we wonder if it can do it at all. I know that with Prusa Printers it prints wonderful.

I have my printer now for almost two week after the added extrusion and still not a single fair print. At first I struggled with Cura and was advised to use PS as it is better with Dual colour printing.

Thanks for reading this. Maybe I am just venting my frustration because I cannot get it done. I even made a suggestion here to start a thread for former Cura users and it wasn't even replied on. I just thought is would be nice since the two slicers are so different from one another.

So I must maybe go back to Cura and try to fine tune the settings.

The problem is I doubt many people here actually are running the setup you are. Most here will be running a mmu if multi printing.
I’d love to help but I don’t have one so can’t advise. You may be better off opening an issue over on GitHub where the devs hang out

https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+sort%3Aupdated-desc

I’ve seen posts over there occasionally about idex and the developers are more likely to know. I’m sure it can be done as there are also posters on the Super Slicer GitHub that are running dual too and as SuSie is a fork of PS the setup for one will be the same for both.

@neophyl

Thanks for your reply.

I have visited github a couple of times but they talk French or maybe even Greek there ... slang and terminology I don't have a clue about. I know that for someone like you with a lot of knowledge and most likely years of 3D-printing and even coding, beginners like me's questions are maybe for many wasting their time. On the other hand everyone starts at the beginning. And that is where I am now in 3D printing. I have my printer now for about 4 months and it feels as if I have only done test- and calibration prints. I have net even a second's experience in g-code, slicer settings and the language accompanying this creative hobby of mine. But, I am a eager learner. On another forum I was flamed for not using the correct wording ... and it was a support forum for beginners. Later on I thought yeah, beginners with at least 2 years' experience.

Thanks anyway for your time. 👍
