Bringing in the settings from a GCODE file
I am trying to get my prusa slicer configured to doing a good quality print at .15mm layer height on my new i3 Mk3S+
However the default configuration wizard settings have a .3mm layer height and when trying to adjust everything to that coveted .15mm layer height, it has resulted in nothing but failed prints.
But the SD card that came with the printer has a benchy gcode file called 3DBenchy_0.15mm_PLA_MK3S_2h.gcode that prints an absolutely beautiful print. Is there a way to get the prusa slicer settings from that gcode file? The settings that were used to make that file work really well with the printer.
RE: Bringing in the settings from a GCODE file
If you ran the wizard and installed the mk3 then it should install profiles for several layer heights.
However you can load , it’s located under File>import. There’s several options there including load config from project etc. I’m not at my computer to check which one it is but one of them allows you to select a gcode file and load the settings that are stored at the end. Those gcode files are old though and so won’t have all the settings available so even if you do this is does not guarantee that your slice will be the same.
It will be far better to sort out your install and figure out why you don’t have the proper profiles to choose from.
RE: Bringing in the settings from a GCODE file
Well I did run the wizard initially, and i only had the .3mm option. But then I ran it again, and I must have had an option not checked that I needed and it's now showing the .15mm option. This is good. I will try a print with these settings soon.
