api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll

Hi , Im completely new here (not to 3D printing) , I run a old gaming PC (very powerfull but old ) with Windows 7 and I cannot get the prusa slicer to work. ..this error comes up......"api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll" is missing.

Since the windows 7 is not updated Anymore I do have a real problem because I love my old PC and WIN7 🙂

I have tryed many things/solutions found online but nothing helps. also the older versions of slicer gives the same error

I do have a original MK3S+ in the pipeline and also a MK3S Bear clone, so some help will be great thanks 😉

No , currently running with another PC (laptop) with Win 8.1 and that one is working , however I have not given up just yet , I have a friend that will look on the issue (Fellow printer and IT software specialist by trade) so maybe he can solve the issue soon.

Note, the old laptop was reset and started up with Win8 and the slicer is not working on that version , some time later it asked to be updated to 8.1 and then I tried again and the slicer works fine now

Try reading this: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-pictures-musicapp/api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0dll-is-missing/b593b94e-6691-423b-a586-0b7f10131e35

Basically, the missing file is part of "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015" so you need to find and install that.

I was reluctant to move on from Windows 8 due to all the moaning online but I love Windows 10 now and have had no problems at all.

Windows 7 Clean Parallel Install over Windows 10

I recently installed Win7Pro on a new partition over Win10. PrusaSlicer 2.3.3 works fine in the Win10 environment, but not in the new Win7Pro environment. I get this error when trying to run it:

The procedure entry point ucrtbase.terminate could not be located in the dynamic link library api-ms-win-crt-runtime-|1-1-0.dll.

I am trying to keep the Win7Pro installation as clean as possible, but I am obviously missing a correct .dll file somewhere.

I installed Win7Pro because my old SolidWorks 2001 won't run on Win10. It runs fine on Win7Pro. It is a hassle restarting every time I want to slice a solid for printing.

By the way, I am totally new to 3D printing, and just ordered my Prusa Original Prusa i3 MK3S+ kit and am excited to get started.

Help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Solved!

I found a copy of Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable and installed it. Works flawlessly now!

By the way, the MK3S+ kit is  a marvel. The assembly process went well due to the well-written instruction manual. The most difficult part was finding a flat surface! Tables, countertops, work benches  - all had some sort of flaw. I found that the 24" tiles on the floor of our guest bath were the flattest surface I could find. The only thing better would be an industrial granite surface table.
