RE:
All we can do right now is speculate (of course) but my opinion:
- The Founder's Edition was/is intended by BondTech to be a mature product and not a beta (except for the t-shirt maybe /s)
- All newly released products will have bugs of varying severity
- A microscope will be put against it on release by the youtube reviewers who are not Prusa shills
- Prusa baking on the original delay of (let's say 3-4 months) between FE release and retail would have given them time to make a more polished product. Not necessarily in hardware but in firmware, software, instruction. Essentially treating the FE as a de-facto beta but not calling it that...
- Any issues with the BondTech version could be subtlety shifted onto them.
Anyway, again all just idle speculation until we receive the product in-hand.

Just spotted this on Reddit
RE:
Maybe not new news, but interesting input from Tommy about the time taken to install the INDX on C1, 6hrs apparently 🤔
RE: Update...(Kind of)
I think the caveat with that 6hrs is level of experience with the system in the first place. He noted on the discord too that it took him about the same time to install as the MMU3.
At this point I feel like I could dismantle the c1 blindfolded. So possibly it’ll take me less than 6hrs?
RE: Update...(Kind of)
Another discord server appears from the tall grass. Tommy seems more active now on the Prusa discord and the page under information. Only additional thing on the discord not shared here.
he was asked if the new version was in the FE. He wasn’t sure. Possibly another difference, however while they’ll injection mold in house I’m sure the stls will appear on printables
RE: Update...(Kind of)
He has posted some interesting looking multi colour prints also and teased a little on prusaslicr 3.0. The prints do look very impressive

That's half the fun really. After I built my Core One, it was a bit anticlimactic. I was like: "what now? I guess I need to start printing with it or something"

Honestly think I enjoyed making more than I have printing with it 😂

Nice, cheers for the info. I didn't spot that whilst I was lurking earlier.

What was teased about Prusaslicer 3.0?
Agreed those multicolour prints do look very nice indeed.

I feel you on this. It was a lot of fun working through the build. I also really enjoyed building and integrating the MMU3 too. I'm just excited to get a proper lid when the INDX FE arrives, having an open top with the poor man's MMU3 mod is a dusty encounter.

Until I have a Eureka moment with something that is going to be worth sticking with, CAD skills aside, that's another story, I find myself almost wanting to find stuff on printables to make sure the printer isn't sitting idle 😅
RE: Update...(Kind of)
I am not sure what to believe about PS 3.0. Some say it is months to years away, while others say it is soon. It sounds so impressive in the YouTube videos. I can't wait to try it when it goes beta.

Unfortunately no videos, just scattered photos on discord.
On 3.0, if you believe the chatter it’s fully functioning in the background but they want to test it more amongst more staff internally and possibly beta testers under NDA before sending outside for wider beta testing. What is being eluded to is that it will push it to the lead again wrt slicers… but let’s be honest any advancements will be adopted by the others in a few weeks. Guessing that’s partially the reason why they are keeping it so close.

Yeah, with all the aggressive Chinese companies only taking, never giving... Prusa are on a hiding to nothing with Prusaslicer.
And what with the recent behaviour from Bambu regarding AGPL, it's cemented my view now that I will never give that parasite of a company a single penny of my money, I don't care how good their printers are.

My ten year old son takes care of that issue. 🤨

The strategy is capture market share regardless of the initial cost/loss in potential revenue or respecting IP. Selling items at a loss or heavy government funding isn’t unusual and not unique to China, but how aggressive it is in some areas is staggering. Once you have a market dominated it’s hard for any other smaller company to take it back. 3d printing is one of many areas this is happening. Another example in Europe is the cost of a Chinese EV versus a European one, even with the high tariffs slapped on them you get a lot more for the price . No way those cars are making profit for the companies after being shipped half way across the world, even when manufactured in areas with lower labour costs.
Its sad that my purchases now require me to way up geopolitics 😂
RE: Update...(Kind of)
I despise politics, but have to admit you are right on this one.
Bambu has taken advantage of the open source model of Prusa and hidden their changes.

RE:
It's a bit more to it than that for me. I'm willing to pay more for a Prusa if I can get at least get equivalent features to what exist on printers that cost 1/3 as much. But from where I stand, Prusa is very much behind the curve in regard to innovation. Just imagine if the Core One L INDX came out a year ago with full RFID support? That would be the system every one would be talking about and wanted. Meanwhile, we are still printing our own nozzle wipers. I used to think changing out nozzles on the nextruder was no big deal: remove silicon boot, attach nozzle jig, loosen thumbscrews, unscrew nozzle, screw new one in, torque it down, tighten thumbscrews. Versus (on my other printer): remove boot, undo clips, remove nozzle.
RE: Update...(Kind of)
Yes, I think there are two sides to the coin. Bambu and other Chinese competitors are overly aggressive, relying on government subsidies (direct or indirect) and a questionable use of open-source IP. But on the other side, Prusa have become complacent and unreliable: Sticking with the i3 architecture for too long, sticking with their established solutions for many design details. And where they do try to innovate, they are notoriously late -- both in announcing new products in the first place, and then in delivering on the announcement.
RE: Update...(Kind of)
Another update from a Prusa team member on Reddit (nomadsgalaxy):
The Bondtech team is working around the clock to get solid updates to the community as fast as they possibly can, while I understand there is a lot of excitement for this, and everyone is eager to get their units, Bondtech's current goal is clear;
Ensure that INDX is of the highest caliber, for all users. No one wants to ship or receive sub-par product.
At this time, they are still working on finalization, and once they are confident in what they have, they will provide updates.
