RE: Update...(Kind of)
I was thinking the other way around (prusa assembles and ships) as Prusa have the 'large volume shipping' experience ... but they always go late... so I don't know if we would be better off with Bondtech 😁
I just don't see Bondtech letting Prusa assemble the INDX extruder and tools. That's their crown jewels -- both in the sense of "their pride and joy" and in the sense of "their main revenue driver". Bondtech are set up for manufacturing, and selling the actual product will always earn them more than having someone else sell it for a license fee.
Maybe this will shift at some point in the future. But the whole "Founders Edition" concept seems designed to let Bondtech take the glory and the revenue. (And the blame, maybe. 😉)
RE: Update...(Kind of)
As long as it's not what BL did with the H2D Vortex upgrade. Ship you half the parts to meet commitments and the ship the rest "eventually".
Yeah, that did piss me off. I will say the purchasing multiples of 6 sets of nozzles is a little expensive. ...but the updated H2D prints very well.

Yeah, but I've got little interest in purchasing an INDX kit and having to install it in the Core One. I just want to purchase it as one unit with everything.

I would think Prusa would sell the Core One and L as either fully assembled with INDX or a partial kit (as an upgrade) with maybe a Nextruder-less option?

Yeah it will be Bondtech assembling and shipping initially I think, at least for the founders edition.
It’s their product, and I doubt they want to risk the INDX reputation to take a hit at launch for assembly or other errors out of their control.
I would imagine this is where the 1500 units or whatever it was to start with comes from…ie within Bondtechs production and assembly capabilities.
That might have to change in the future depending on demand I guess.
RE: Update...(Kind of)
I'm planning on purchasing a Core One with INDX one they are available... Until then... just gonna enjoy the H2 series.

From Olof Ogland at BondTech over at Discord:
Founders kits complete sets will be shipped by us. Later on, for retail, the Prusa upgrade kits will be shipped entirely by Prusa.
