Prusa CORE One INDX – Unmatched Toolchanger With 8 Nozzles – Orders Now Open!

We’ve just opened the orders for the INDX conversion kit for the Prusa CORE One/+. You can find all the details on the product page. Still, it makes sense to have everything important summarized in one place, so please review the blog article for full details.

RE:

That's awesome news!

Two technical questions:

  1. With 4 tools version, do I have an option to mount spools on the right side of the printer?
Mine is sitting on the shelf which has no space on the left side.
  2. I noticed a small reduction on the print volume - to 248×205×270mm (X×Y×Z), while original CoreOne has 250×220x270 mm - so it shrank by 2mm and 15 mm accordingly. A lot for the build plate size. Was this announced before and I just missed that?

Thanks!

Please vote for my models in the contest 🙂

I thought it was supposed to be ball parked at around $350. Or was that just the founders version? That's what older announcements threw out there.

At over double that... Yeah, my interest just got really deflated.

Vehemently against AI. I've seen that film. It ends badly.

Hello,

I do have a Core-one and just ordered the INDX upgrade. Do I have to perform the core-one+ upgrade prior to installing the INDX or i can skip it?

The answer Seems obvious, but i may have missed something.

You can skip it. None of the "+" upgrade parts will be used after the INDX upgrade.

RE: Prusa CORE One INDX – Unmatched Toolchanger With 8 Nozzles – Orders Now Open!

Tried placing an order for the US. Kept giving me a blank order. So I tried from my phone which went through. My bank was charged but my orders list was never updated. Also never got my voucher from ordering a core one + end of DEC 2025. So my bank was charged, I have no update on order in the prusa system and never got a voucher to apply.

Yay, it's here!! I thought it had been announced as costing closer to $400-500, $750 will be a harder sell, though I definitely still want it once some reviews are out, assuming it doesn't have major issues.

In particular, my main hesitation right now is the change away from the load cell for bed calibration. I worry this may put us back to closer to the MK3 days of endless first layer calibrations and poor adhesion, rather than the perfect-every-time first layer the nextruder has spoiled us with. I know there's the new calibration sensor, but given that's not mechanically part of the bed itself, I worry there's still an offset that will need to be tuned and dealt with.

When will the founder's edition kits be shipped out? It'll be valuable to hear their experiences before committing to ordering.

Where did you get that from? In my understanding there will still be a load cell in the INDX extruder, used for bed calibration. The new calibration PCB in the front right is to calibrate the relative XYZ positions of the nozzles (to get consistent positions for all nozzles).

Sorry for the second message looks like my browser is acting very weird that I can't edit anything on the prusa site. Billing seems to have worked but the voucher is still a big issue. Hoping it can be applied retroactively.

The Core One+ INDX still uses the load cell in the tool head for bed leveling.

They only added an eddy current sensor separately for automatic tool (nozzle) offset calibration, meaning no X or Y offsets between layers printed with different tools.

Prusa mentioned in the blog post that the founder’s edition is to be shipped in May.

The higher price kinda sucks, but the more I think about it, the more I am OK with it. I am gonna think about it a little more and maybe order one later tonight.

You can skip it. None of the "+" upgrade parts will be used after the INDX upgrade.

This is what I was wanting to make sure of... Unless the "+" parts are considered part of the "upgrade" when installing. Such as, "Step 1: Print this part and replace this".

If I buy this upgrade, with a standard Core One, I rather not have to print anything to complete said upgrade. Ideally. That way I don't need to buy any really robust material I usually don't use.

The "+" spool holder and filament sensor on the right side panel will probably be removed to make room for the new spool holders and the priming bucket. They will certainly not be used in the INDX setup, which brings its own spool holders and filament path.

The little tabs on the Nextruder and the top vent will definitely be removed (along with the Nextruder and the top lid). There will be a new lever mechanism which allows the Bondtech extruder to nudge the vent grille in the new tank turret lid that comes with INDX.

Thanks for the correction, Jürgen and SuperCuriousFox, I initially only saw the product page listing, and not the much more detailed blog post. I'm sold on it, just ordered (though I hate that the price for the 4-toolhead kit plus a couple spools of filament and shipping came to nearly $1,000). Hopefully it'll live up to all the expectations! I guess the founders edition users will let us know fairly soon now!

From the blog post

The conversion kits for the CORE One L, along with fully assembled printers with the INDX pre-installed, are planned to become available later this year. Likewise for the upgrade kit from 4T to 8T, as well as individual tools for purchase.
