Filament sensors disabled error

I printed a small gridfinity box in PLA. It had trouble in the middle of the print. The C1 stopped and asked me to change filaments (this is a single color print job). I didn't know the issue so I changed to a different PLA spool and continued. At the end of the job C1 told me the filament sensors are disabled. I followed these instructions, and I blew out the hole while running filament in and out. I then went and loaded/unloaded filament thru the menu and purged. It worked as normal. How can I be sure the sensors are working again?

BTW, I think the problem was caused by filament binding on the spool. I noticed it was binding when I started the job, but I thought I fixed it on the spool.

Go to "Control > Calibration & tests > 11 Filament sensor calibration", and follow the on-screen procedure. It has you remove and then re-insert the filament, confirms that the sensors work and determines the correct thresholds for the sensor states.

FWIW after something similar happened to me I found it handy to have both filament sensors added to the info in the footer of my screen (Settings/User Interface/Footer)

On there I have nozzle, bed, and chamber temps, and both those.

Cheers, Geoff
