C1 squeaking noise?

Can anyone help me with a squeaking noise that the C1 makes depending on the print?

I am a newbie bought a C1 assembled. I've had the Printer for about 6wks and have been maintaining what needs to do but lubricating maintenance not due yet?

I had a similar issue with my core one and it turned out that the issue was the belt had loosened since the printer was originally put in service. I pulled up the app on my phone and tighten the belts according to the instructions from Prusa. Based on a prior blog post that I had seen I adjusted the belt to be 95 Hz. Squeaking sound went away.

RE: C1 squeaking noise?

Please try to reproduce that noise and then grab the filament spool, turn it a bit further to slightly slack the filament and check, if the sound still happens.

My spools on the standard spool holder make quite some wild noises, which are amplified via spool holder + side panel.

Probably not it, but would be good to check that first.

My next idea would be that the Z-leadscrews are rubbing somewhere. For that, make all the screws in the shiny black leadscrew nuts slightly loose, so they don't wobble in Z, but can slightly move in XY.

Also slightly loosen the screws that connect the print bed to the printed parts with the Z bearing. Also, don't make them wobble, just very slightly loose.

If the noises go away, it's because there was too much tension/friction.

To more or less solve this, move the bed all the way down and then tighten all the screws.

Move the bed all the way up and check if the noises are still there.

If the noises are coming from the gantry, I sadly have no idea.

Thanks will try and reproduce it again. Just waiting for the bed to heat etc and then I'll check hope it is as it means to go into unknown territory with printer. Thanks so much for your help, appreciated🙏😃

Apologies! I missed your reply.

Yeah, if it's way to tight, that's probably a problem.  I'm sure mine was way to loose.

I will say it was a challenge using the Prusa app tool to reading the Hz.

I split the difference and went with 95Hz because the person, who in his video, was talking with Prusa for his Core One eval and noting the horrible VFA issue.

Prusa told him to set the belts at 105Hz, and the quality went way up.

(I've read in other posts that the pullies on the X/Y/Z access may have quality control issue, such as being non-concentric. I wonder if tightening the belts may help overcome that?)

I'm certainly glad you got your printer working!!
