[6.5.3] Door opened/closed but CORE One thinks it's still open
Hi,
I upgraded to 6.5.3 and started a print off this morning. I noticed a bit of filament on the platter so quickly opened the door to remove it.
The Core ONE, gave me the new 'door open' alarm - fair enough. However, it still says the door is still open (even though I closed it

Edit: Just noticed that the chamber temperature is rising (now at 30° so will switch the printer off now).

I've just recalibrated the door sensor so I'll see how that goes.

I've never understood the door sensor "calibration" business. It's microswitch. You can hear it click. The adjustment tends to be wonky and probably needs a return spring, but just listen, and make sure it clicks on and off when the door is about 10 mm open. I think the factory procedure is trying to set it such that it alarms if you can slip a finger in the crack when the door is slightly open. IMO, too fussy.

I found and easier way to calibrate it, I turned it off in the firmware.

institutional feature, can't sell to schools without this 🙂

Thanks, guys - it's seems to be working after the calibration. Not sure if it shifted or whether I just did it wrong when I first set it up.

Curious, is this a EU regulation thing? My H2D doesn't have a door sensor. Wonder if the ones sold in the EU have it or is this just a Prusa thing?
RE: [6.5.3] Door opened/closed but CORE One thinks it's still open
There's probably some clause in the CE Machinery Directive that "encouraged" it.

In the EU the Machinery Directive defines the core safety requirements. But I am pretty sure that similar requirements apply in the US, defined in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.212 and probably other regulations.
I bet that your Bambu H2D has a door sensor (Hall sensor) as well, and another one on the top lid:
Opening the door will turn the lights and display back on when they have switched off in standby mode. And under Settings > Print Options you can choose whether you want a notification or want the print paused when you open them during operation. I understand that, if the laser module is installed and in use, the laser will always be disabled by the door sensor.

Ah, yes of course. I was so used to the mechanical steampunk vibe of the Core One that I was expecting an obvious switch I suppose.

This seems to have fixed it - thanks everyone.
