Will there be a INDX version of the CORE One+?

As I understand the INDX comes as an update for the CORE One+. This I understand means buying a Core One+ with a Nextruder and then take out the Nextruder and the filament guide to install the INDX, leaving the Nextruder in a drawer gathering dust.

I'd prefer, I think, having a CORE One+ with the INDX stuff natively built in, or a bare Core One+ without Nextruder.

That question has come up multiple times, but Prusa has preferred not to answer it yet.

My guess is that they will offer such a configuration eventually, but (understandably) don't want to discourage people from buying the Core One+ right now. And even when INDX gets officially launched by Prusa, I would expect it to first become available as an upgrade kit, and only later as a preinstalled variant. Those extra revenues from selling first the Nextruder, then the INDX, are too tempting, would be my guess...

If a pre-built option with INDX is to be available, I would estimate around the of this year at the earliest. I assume INDX will be a popular update, and, considering the Prusa user base being mainly tinkerers, the first few batches will be snapped up pretty quick, leaving little inventory to create fully assembled orders.

You can buy kit version of the printer instead... Prusa's tax.

I got the answer today via email:

We do not have the option of selling the printer without Nextruder and there will not be such option in the future

"We won't sell extruder-less printers" is different from "We'll sell a printer without a nextruder but with INDX". I'm waiting for the latter.

RE:

Prusa did state in the blog that printers with INDX pre-installed will become available. But it's not entirely clear from the wording whether that refers to the Core One L only, or also to the Core One+:

The conversion kits for the CORE One L, along with fully assembled printers with the INDX pre-installed, are planned to become available later this year.

My guess is that they will sell as many INDX kits for the Core one as they can before they start selling the Core one with INDX installed and before they start selling INDX for the L, if they even sell kits for the L or just sell the L with INDX installed

The demand for the L is still high so INDX for L probably won't come until demand drops

And the price for the Core one with INDX installed will probably be at least as high as buying a Core one kit + INDX

I would hope it can be cheaper, since the cost of the Nextruder will be saved, plus some smaller parts like the side filament sensor and flat lid. Competitive price pressure will probably force Prusa to pass those savings on to the customer.

Yes if they sell the Core one with INDX as a kit, but not as a pre-assembled one

But we'll see
