Where to find variants of Core One printed parts
I've been trying to print a new rear cover for my Core one, but the only version I can find is "PRINTHEAD COVER REAR R2". I printed it out and it doesnt fit, because the screw holes and the bowden guide dont line up. It is labeled R2, while the orignal from my printer is labeled E2. Why get rid of the old version?
RE: Where to find variants of Core One printed parts
The didn't get rid of the old version. It should be the same one. The downloaded parts have "R" for the revision number. The factory parts have "E". They should otherwise be identical. What kind of filament are you using to print it?
RE: Where to find variants of Core One printed parts
I used prusament PCCF that had been dried so it should be the same
RE: Where to find variants of Core One printed parts
When you mention it doesn't line up. By how much? How did you print the part? Did you use a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height. Also, what extrusion multiplier did you use?
RE: Where to find variants of Core One printed parts
It looks like ~1-2mm. I used the specified profiles, all stock etc. It is dimensionally the same except for the bowden tube and the second hole pattern.
Here you can see how the bowden tube doesnt really fit the loveboard mount
Side by side with the original. Ignore the honeycomb pattern, I added that in the slicer and it is otherwise identical to the R2 I found on prusa printables page
Layed flat on top of eachother, maybe 1-2mm difference
RE: Where to find variants of Core One printed parts
Another indicator that it is a different part is the significantly later listed upload date of November 21, 2025 for "PRINTHEAD COVER REAR R2" and LOVEBOARD MOUNT R2" compared to april for other parts/ I don't know why they changed it but I suspect it was to change the bowden entry and they also had to move the second screw in the process
RE:
OK. Interesting, I would suggest to print out the matching "LOVEBOARD MOUNT R2" and replace both as a set.
Generally though E# = R# unless they've changed how they version the parts.
RE: Where to find variants of Core One printed parts
Ok thats good to know. I will probably end up reprinting, which is annoying. Although in the future I hope there would be some way to add version history. On Prusa website they also sell the part in an E3 variant, so it would be helpful to be able to go back.

They would most certainly have the previous versions on their internal github repos. At least when they dump them on to printables what would helpful is to have a change log. Maybe the new parts have some improvements that make them worth reprinting.
I'm glad you found this issue because it could possibly trip people up if you are replacing a single part but it's no longer compatible with the joining part.
