Prusa Core One RGB Strip Not Working
I just received my Core One here in the US (Batch #7, ordered 2025-01-06).
The RGB light bar under the print bed does not light up at all. I tried to toggle it on/off in the settings, with no change.
Has anyone else noticed a similar issue?
Another weird thing was the divergence between the steps in the manual and the state of the machine. There was a piece of filament in the hotend and sticking out the inlet bowden tube.
So the steps to properly commission the printer included unloading the filament (having to guess and select it's PLA), then proceed with the filament sensor calibration.
I also seem to have a rust/finish issue in the corner of the metal bracket to which the display is attached.
I hope that this is the extent of the issues thus far - other than the fact that I may need a much sturdier workbench. On full speed, the whole table shakes violently, though the printer itself is very quiet, I would say comparable to my Prusa Mini, which is impressive!
RE: found the problem
I found the problem. This is scary, and frankly, not acceptable at this price.
It's a 5-pin connector, so not sure which pin it needs to go into.
I am also not sure if the existing crimp is compromised - which is very likely.
Bonus pic of the rust spot:
Also the overall fit/quality of the top panel is strange. It seemed to be missing some of the plastic push pin straight out of the box (though I did lose one when removing the plastic wrap).
RE: Prusa Core One RGB Strip Not Working
Try popping the he pin back in. No real danger as all of those circuits are low voltage.
Either way contact support.

I referenced the original photo, and figured not much harm "guessing" that the wire should go into the last pin slot. I put it back into the connector, which was tricky due to miniature size and short wire/cramped quarters, but it went in fine and it's secure in there--it passed the "pull test".
The LED bar lights up properly now.
I am more convinced now that the pin was never pushed in all the way during manufacturing. I could see the whole connector coming loose before those pins pop out.
I was never concerned about this particular connection, but rather some of the higher draw ones like the heaters etc. I checked what I could easily access and everything seemed secure. Another user on reddit reported having same exact issue with the same exact pin on this connector. Really weird.
RE: Prusa Core One RGB Strip Not Working
Prusa is really starting to look like they need to crack down on QC. This is something that should never be an issue. When making up these connectors, you pull each wire to ensure they cannot come loose.
If Prusa are making these in house, it needs investigating and people need training, if they're not they need to have a word with the supplier, although I'm assuming it is the former.
