RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list

2025.01.31 18:52 GMT+1 is my order. After ordering, the shipping time was 1 for a few days, then it changed to TBA.It will be shipped at a reasonable price.

RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list

Same here.  I tried to order right when orders were supposed to open, but if I recall correctly, it took me about 2 hours 20 minutes to finally get an order placed.  I'm all the way in the US and I'm guessing the servers were a bit far away from me, so I'm just hoping I'm in one of the first few batches.

In any event, as was said elsewhere in this thread, I won't wring my hands over the wait.  I'm anxious, yes, but that isn't going change anything shipping wise.  It's also the reason I didn't pay for the expedited shipping.  I'm already waiting months, what's a few extra days, right? 🤣

Here's a video that will give us an idea on the build after we dismantle the MK4S.

Help a non-native speaker please... Isn't that the same thing?

"by end of April"
"before end of April"
"no later than end of April"

... all mean the same to me?

As a native speaker, I agree with Jürgen's interpretation.  The end of April is midnight on the 30th, and all of those expressions simply mean that shipments can start any time up to 23:59/30th.  I can see how the use of 'before' may have been intended to convey an impression that it could be a lot sooner than that, but strictly the commitment is exactly the same as 'by'.

RE:

I think the point being made above is that you're talking semantics.  I've always said the English language is 3 racoons in a trench coat pretending to be a language.  In this case, "by the end of April" and "before the end of April" mean the exact same thing.  Before midnight on the 30th of April. 😀

Can we also say that shipped is 'expected' before the end of April.

The end of April is 23:59:59 on 30th, before then is anywhere between 00:00:00 on the 1st April to 23:58:59 on 30th or anywhere in between, again semantics and a little pedantic on my side, but here we are.

The frustration is real, anyone up to this point who has made any pre-order for the C1 has been in the same boat. Don't expect anything before the 30th April, if they start shipping before, you'll be happy. If they don't, then ask the question.

I've been on the record as not being happy with the way Prusa approached their launch of the C1, hell, I'm still waiting on my kit. But it's not going to help arguing the toss here, I know, I've been there and done it. Just chill and be patient, it will come and hopefully all the bugs will be ironed by the time yours ships 😊

I ordered it on 31 March and did not intend to buy a core one kit, but I wanted to stick to the upgrades.  I have since ordered a kit,

RE: MK4S to Prusa CORE One Conversion kit Waiting list

Ordered on 1/31, here..  semi-patiently waiting.

The one thing I'm actually a bit annoyed by, is the fact I'd JUST purchased the enclosures for my MK4's a few months prior, and now I'm gonna have a few expensive as all get out enclosures, that are semi-useless.

Expressed that frustration to support a few weeks ago, saying it'd have been nice if there was a way to re-use these enclosures, instead of getting new/different ones. They said they're aware that's a pain point for their diehard fans that had purchased the enclosures, and they're experimenting with 'alternate' upgrade paths for those users.

Whether that means a slightly larger Core 1, utilizing the existing enclosures (just scaled up), or somehow just using the enclosures as support..  *shrug* who knows.

That said, if I had a slight pet peeve, it'd be the fact that our upgrade kits, theoretically, have less parts required, and weigh less.. and yet, we're on the tail end of shipping, vs the assembled, and kits.

Still, not my first rodeo.. so waiting patiently. Hopefully Prusa can get things shipped before US De Minimus is removed, in May.. AND before all of these idiotic tariffs come into play... it'd kinda suck if we had to pay an additional $100 to our own government, for our upgrades, because of them.

Based on the comments that the delay on the kit was the assembly instructions, I expect that's the delay on the upgrade and why it's last.  Given it's basically a complete disassembly and build, I expect they're using the kit manual as a base.

I also think, given the work required to upgrade, we should get two bags of Haribo's! (or maybe the XL size bag)

I'm with you on the tariff BS.  Are we great again yet? 😒  My understanding is that there was a 90 day pause on them today, but that could change with the wind...

Yeah, there were pauses on everything but things originating from China. I personally wonder how it's going to impact the cost of Filament and Resin, since most aren't made in the US, and the few that are.. are made with globally sourced ingredients.

Buy European, American, or Canadian made filament and you don't have to worry.
