Filament not loading
Okay Guys, I neen a bit of help here. I have a Core One that I have uograded to a +. It has been working great for the past mont or but last night after I finished with a print I shut everything down and turned the world off for some rest. This mornong when I started over again I nooticed that there was no filament being extruded when I started the first print. I did some checking nd found that the filament had broken off at the top of the nozzle. I cleared that problem and reinstalled the nozzle and did a quick check to see if there was anything else that was causing a disruption in the filament path and could not find anything. When I tried to reload the PLA Flat filament it would not go past the Idler area. All I get is a clicking noise. After some schecing I could not find anything that would be causing any blockage of the filament path. I had checked the sensor area, the gear path way and the area in and around the idler. With everything off and the opened up, I passed a piece of filament down through the filament sensor past the idler into the nozzle opening area and then on down down trhrough the fan area, All was clear. No stuck filament bits anywhere along the path. I put it all back together and tried to reload the filament again, and again it would not go past the Idler area, just a bunch of clicks as it was trying to move the filament into position and feed it on into the nozzle. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the reply and link to the part. I will give it a try and see what happens. After being in the military for 22 years and bouncing around this big blue marble for almost 80 years I have learned that when things don't work and you have done all you can do to try and resolve the problem and they still exist, There are times when time is the best repair remedy, plus a little bit of either Voo Doo magic or just plane old FM(you ca guess the first word and the second is magic)logic. Any way, after lunch I tried to load the filament again and this time it did load. I don't know what changed, but something moved or shifted in it's place, but it let the filament pass. It may have been the bulge, it may have somewhere else, I don't know where.Thanks anyway, this part looks like a much better design. I will print one and give it a test and see what happens. Any improvement be it just a minor tweak, is a positive improvement. Give me a day or two and I will let you know haw it goes.

When I have experienced this issue it is usually resolved by trimming the point on the filament. While I don't have any empirical evidence to support my supposition, I believe that what is happening is the filament tip is snagging either on the lower hole in the Nextruder Main Plate or the top of the nozzle heat break tube and results in the clicking. I've had this occur with insufficiently pointed filaments and filaments with the "rammed" tip typical of the filament unload cycle especially if there is a small bend/curl in the filament end. Cutting about 3 inches off of the end at a 45+ degree angle seems to resolve the issue.

Cutting the end at an angle has also done it for me, even with tough loading stuff like TPU.

Thanks to you all for the suggestions and amendend parts. I found a big part of my problem and have got it resolved now. There was a small bit of filament that had broken off and was lodged ih the Idler throat area and it was partially blocking the path to the nozzle opening. Once I got all of that removed and cleaned up it loads normally now. There are still some issues that are giveing me fits . It all started with a Windows upgrade, the latest Firmware update and the latest Slicer update, all of which I loaded within a day or two of each other. That is when my prints started going to the crap basket and I started having all the problems. First, all my preloaded print and filament files were gone. Then the the feature where the printer would probe the bet around the print area prior to the start of a print went away and I was no longer getting the perfect first layers. Then when prints would start, about the 2nd or 3 layer I woud get horizontzl shift of about an inch to the left. Then it just started laying the first layed down on the bed with no layer adjustment at all. At this point I have a $1,000 door stop.
I have backdated my firmware one version and gone back one vesion on the slicer, which has helpped a little, but I still cannot get a usable print. This is affecting both my Core One and my Mk4, so I am effectively dead in the water.
If I can get the old system of pre probing the bed for the first layer bed leveling back and the first layer height problem along with the random shifting solved, I think I could get by for now.
I am open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance to you all for your help and assistance, an old newish kin of guy. I know almost enough to get me in real trouble but not enough to get out of it all the time and this is one of those times.
