RE: Core One and MMU3

I'm still not sure which solution to go with.

Me neither, i’ll assemble mmu first, then i’ll think of something i guess…

RE: Core One and MMU3

I ordered the light version because I planned to guide the filament through the top plate (there are different solutions on printables), but I didn't like the MMU sitting on top of the printer. Also the buffer solution in the side panel is far from optimal. The magnets do not hold the buffer correctly, and every time you want to replace one of the filaments, the entire buffer slides down because the buffer holders with the magnets are too unstable/weak.

I can recommend this one, it's a clean version that fits nicely into the core one design (I just used the mount and replaced the original PTFE tube with a longer one + removed the side filament sensor) :
https://www.printables.com/model/1321861-right-side-mmu3-mount-for-prusa-core-one

Due to the longer PTFE tube a larger buffer (or other system like rewinders) should be used. I did some prints with >140 changes and it seems to work pretty well on this position, but it took some tinkering to get a good length of the tube.

RE: Core One and MMU3

Well, I got notification that the Core One HEPA / Carbon filter has shipped... no sign of the Assembled MMU3 shipping.

To all MMU3 users:

what would you do - install MMU3 on MK4S or on CoreOne? I still can't decide...  is there any "better" option here?

I found it quite reliable on the MK4s - the printer for which it was actually designed. Putting it onto a Core One feels like a tacked on afterthought.

So much so, that I have ordered a competing printer with multicolour unit instead, which I will use for multicolour and multimaterial prints......

I am running mine on the Core One and extremely happy.  Using my drybox from my mk4 days.   Been working flawlessly.

RE: Core One and MMU3

Thanks, guys.
One of the reasons for my doubts is the fact that changing filament is way easier and quicker on MK4 than on Core One, where you must push it aaaaaal the way through silicone tube (but i do have parts for “bowden speed loaded” ordered) . I know,  MMU3 will mostly take care after that. But not always… it can only handle 5 rolls, and i have way more…

so, again, it’s a tie😅

RE: Core One and MMU3

Has anyone ordered and actually received this:

Original Prusa MMU3 Enclosed (for CORE One) - Full Kit

Or the corresponding assembled MMU for Core One?

I ordered the Full Kit on May 27, 2025. At one point the website showed a projected ship date of July 7. But it hasn't shipped and the projected ship date has disappeared from the website. New orders currently show a 5-6 week lead time for the kit, and 4-5 weeks for the fully assembled MMU3 for Core One. It makes me wonder if the assembled units are prioritized, and the kit ship dates keep getting bumped as long as there is a backlog for assembled units. If that is the case, I wish they would just come out and say it so we would know what to order to avoid a huge queue.

The new FTC season starts in September and I was hoping to have this up and running for the team before then.

RE: Core One and MMU3

I just finished my MMU3 installation. I bought MMU3 kit for MK4S without printed parts - at the time i ordered it i still didn't decide whether i'll install it on Core On or on MK4S, also that one had shorter waiting period (just over 2 weeks)

What it's needed is to print all parts for MMU3 and additional parts for Core One, or, if you'd but a kit with printed parts then you only need to print a dew parts for core one.

Then if you follow assembly manual all fits like a glove. Only thing you need to buy extra if you choose to get MK4S set are 6x20 magnets (12 pcs) and teflon tube (450mm). I installed it as "lite" version.

But, i'll have to do something with buffer and filaments holder. What came originally is... well... not ok... to much space wasted at filaholders for first...

RE: Core One and MMU3

I don't think you are getting bumped because you ordered a kit. I ordered the full assembled and am also still waiting. The original time frame has come and gone. At one point, I was showing a projected ship date on the order but that only lasted a day or two and then disappeared. They also don't have any info for the Core One on their dates page with the other products. I'm assuming they are having trouble producing or procuring something that is needed specifically for the Core One version. Honestly, it's about what I expected based on the dates given for the Core One printer kit itself and the wait that ensued from that. It will either come in, or I will decide to just wait for the next gen that they are working on for the Core One. I was on the wall anyway on whether to just wait.

RE:

Could be…but when i ordered waiting time for MK4S was 1-2 weeks while for core one was 5-6 weeks… but when i checked appr. a week later waiting time for MK4S was already 3-4 weeks, so…

delay could cause a simple thing as plastic cover for core one, etc…when i waited for printer delay was because i ordered buddycam together with printer kit, for example… supposedly they received whole shipment of non-working cameras.

RE: Core One and MMU3

Haven’t been on here much SINCE I’VE BEEN PRINTING.  My XL5 and mini’s have just been banging out stuff.

I have a new place to print, and I might take one to my work lab, so I ordered:

Prusa CORE One kit

Original Prusa MMU3 Enclosed (for CORE One) - Full Kit

Just skimming threads here, it sounds like this is working?  I’m looking at taking the MMU2 off of my Mk3S, since that was a complete disaster.  I was really interested in the CORE One and MMU because of the need to print multimaterial and the ‘chamber’ should help with higher end printing (PP, PA, ASA).

Is this set-up the current ‘hotness’ for multimaterial printing. Like I said, I’m amazed how well the XL works- but I’m looking at adding two units, and I can’t do that.

So, what’s the best way to set up a CORE One and MMU, with an eye towards using engineering polymers that might need to be kept dry?
