Will Prusa tension meter work?

Just saw another post on belt tension on the C1, which made me wonder...

On my other printers I prefer to use the Prusa tension meter https://www.printables.com/prints/46639 over the app based method, which I found unreliable in my hands. Away from home for a few weeks so can't test it myself, but should the tension meter work with the C1?

RE:

It may IF the material properties and slicer settings print it just right to achieve the correct deflection when used.

Personally relying on prints for accurate tension measurement is just asking for variances between prints / printers etc, its one thing using something with a very low friction hinge and using weights, as gravity is close enough around the planet to make this accurate enough, but extruded plastic?. I can print two identical parts with filaments from two different manufacturers and will get big differences. Even different batches from the same manufacturer can vary.

Your best bet is using prusament and see what other people who use the exact same model and slicer setting get, ie they know their frequency, they print the same tensioner gauge using the same prusament filament (inc colour) type, and report if it shows an accurate deflection.

If nearly everyone says it works. showing the correct deflection, then you have a high probability of it working correctly.

Normal people believe that if it is not broke, do not fix it. Engineers believe that if it is not broke, it does not have enough features yet.

I have checked the app measurement against a reliable belt tension frequency meter and it actually does read the correct frequency, although my phone a pixel 9! is a little deaf and struggles to hear the belts using the built in mic.

I am considering buying a bluetooth over ear headset anyway, so when I do I will give this a try and see if it is any better.

I know. As I said, I've been using the printer tension meter for many years with Mk3, Mk4, Minis, I was just specifically curious if it worked with the c1 as it has a different belt system.

The Gates Carbon Drive Mobile App in motorcycle mode works just fine: https://www.gatescarbondrive.com/products/tools
