Using external spools on top of the Enclosure
Hello,
I have a question for all the Original Enclosure owners:
- Is it possible to use spools on top of the box (e.g. inside cereal boxes or Polymaker dry boxes )
I ask, because reading the assembly instructions, I see that the Bowden tube starts from the Nextruder and go on a L shape holder inside the box on the top right side of the box. This is there because is near the spool bar, and the path from the a spool installed inside the box is relative short.
A different thing is to bring there the filament from a dry box located on the top if the Enclose; it seems me a difficult path, and I have no idea on what should be the entrance point of the filament into the box, and how to reach the L shape holder or even the Nextruder. I think that any attempt would add considerable friction to the filament.
- What is your experience on this ?
Regards
RE: Using external spools on top of the Enclosure
I use the hole in the middle of the top panel of the Original Prusa Enclosure to feed from spool holders and dryers standing on top of the enclosure. This is the shortest path to the extruder on the printer. There is a reverse bowden tube between the underside of the top panel and the extruder, of course. The parts I used for the couplers are on Printables as mods for the Original Prusa Enclosure. There are several variations using magnets or other methods of connecting the PTFE tubes. I am sure you will be able to find the parts. If not, I can look up the links.
