Printing MultiColor Flush Text

I've been playing around with the PrusaSlicer TEXT (T) option, since I don't have my printer yet. I would like to create MultiColor text, FLUSH with the surface, not embossed or debossed.  So far I can't even get flush test. Should I create embossed text, then lower it's height. I tried 0.0mm and 0.1m, but the slicer would net accept them. It seems like flush text with color would be nice for tags, boxes, etc.

tnx...

RE:

You just need to change the type/operation to "modifier". Either in the Emboss dialog for the Text or by right-click->change type. Then you can set a separate extruder for the text and it will be flush. Only you need to have some depth to it, to actually affect a big enough part of the main model to print, depth 0 would mean that it won't do anything.

And don't let yourself be fooled by the preview of the text being above the surface all the time 🙂

While you're waiting try multicolour printing with your Mk3 - the underying principles are the same ...  then you'll be ready when it arrives.

RE: Printing MultiColor Flush Text

I plan on doing my flush text in the CAD software, so I'll have a different mesh body for each character.

Whatever you find to do with your hands, do with all your might!

Group the text together as a multipart object - then it's much easier to place.

Hi, can you be a little more specific on this? I have a piece that I imported as a STP and thought it could be split but that option is greyed out. How do you convert it to a multipart if the letters where created in a cad program??

Attached is a zip containing two files - rufus1.stl and rufus2.stl - optimised for 0.2mm layers.

Import both at the same time into any multicolour printer profile - accept them as parts of the same object and slice.
