XL using wrong tool - settings?

Hi all,

Ive got the Xl with dual head on latest firmware and using slicer 2.7.2 on a Mac.  In slicer, Im setting the print to use the default tool (1) in the slicer and sending the code to the printer but it's using tool 2 to print....  Starting point is tool 1 parked, tool 2 on the print head.

Tool 1 is being heated during the heat soak phase and just as its about do do the bed levelling, tool 2 heats up and prints the model...

It then keeps both nozzles at the required temp until the print ends.  It then turns off the heat to nozzle 2 but keeps nozzle 1 hot.  Nozzle 1 only turns off when the timeout happens.

Next thing to try is pre selecting tool one then send the print and see what it does but in the meantime, does anyone know if Im missing something basic and Ive not clicked an option somewhere.  Ill also try setting extruder as 1 instead of default and see if that changes the behaviour.

Spool join is not on for the print (its being sent from Prusa slicer) and there's filament loaded to tool 1.

Any help appreciated.

Update

I parked tool 2 and loaded tool 1 before sending the identical code to the printer and it only heated tool 1 and printed using tool 1.  So working as expected as long as the tool I want to use is preselected.

I then tried parking both heads and sending the same code - it selected the correct tool (1) and did not heat tool 2. - Working as expected.

Next test - I parked tool 1 and picked tool 2 on the printer.  In slicer I changed the extruder to use from default to 1. (So replicates the original initial setup with only extruder specifically named as 1 instead of default in slicer).  Result - printer heated nozzle 1 during bed preheat but it did not park tool 2 and select tool 1. Printer heated both nozzle 1 and 2 and printed from 2.  No the expected result.

Summary - feels like if a tool is already selected, the XL will print using it.  If both tools are parked or if the intended tool is on the print head, it prints using the correct one.

Have I selected an incorrect option somewhere or is this an issue?

Final test - Parked both heads.  Changed slicer to print from tool 2. Sent code to printer.  Printer heats up and pics tool 1.....  not expected result...

OK - found the problem.....  I noticed that within slicer, the starting gcode was not default.  I don't know anything about gcode so I must have imported something at some point that messed with that.  I reset that and then deleted the "Physical Printer" and created a new one from the system presets.  Just running a print now but seems to have stopped doing weird things.....

Lesson for me - double check the gcode.....

Glad to fixed it. I've never seen this before so I suspected it to be a config issue.
